Can EMF Exposure Lead to Mood Disorders?

Emf exposure and mood disorders are connected. No matter how healthy you are, there will be times that you will deal with anxiety, mood swings, and depression. Stress is the trigger of many negative emotions and outbursts. This happens to nearly everyone.

It is vital that mental health is protected with the same discretion that physical and emotional health.

The stressors must be eliminated to lower the risk of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders which have a detrimental effect on mental health. In fact, research shows a link between emf protection and anxiety reduction.

Stressors, emf exposure, and mood disorders

Statistics reveal that there are more apparent stressors present today than ever before. Or perhaps we are better at identifying stressors. Either way, 20% of adults in the US have mental health issues.

There is an increased demand and pressure in modern society today. Many of these demands create stress as a byproduct. With introspection and counseling, many of these stressors are identified. With a lifestyle modified you eliminate the stressor or mitigate it.

Exposure to EMF is a Common Stressor: emf exposure and mood disorders

There are times where it is difficult to pinpoint the cause of stress. It is normal to experience hours of anxiety, but when it stretches to days and weeks, something is not right. Has your sadness and anxiety lasted for an extended period? Are you still sad even amid pleasant circumstances and occurrences? Have you tried to cheer yourself up repeatedly and failed?

Many people reply affirmative to the questions above. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon problem. Due to the difficulty of pinpointing exact stressors in some cases, doctors delay prescribing medical treatments.

There are many factors contributing to mood disorders: poor nutrition, chronic stress in the workplace, obesity, and many more. However, a factor that is too often ignored is electromagnetic field radiation.

More than ever before, we expose our bodies to constant radiation from WiFi connections, smartphones, laptops, and tablets. These all emit EMF radiation.

The Connection Between Mental Health and Exposure to EMF Radiation

The harmful effects of EMF radiation on mood disorders are identified by numerous studies. It has been confirmed that there is a link between exposure to EMF radiation and mood disorders and other symptoms of mental health issues as well.

In 1997, a study was conducted on over five hundred adults living in areas with high voltage transmission equipment.  The results revealed that the higher the radiation of EMF these subjects were exposed to, the higher their probability of experiencing mood disorders. The most common were depression, anxiety, psychosis, and obsessive-compulsive behavior.

A cohort study with a population size of 139,000 workers in an electric company revealed that constant high exposure to EMF leads to increased suicide rates. The conclusion of this study revealed the connection between EMF protection and anxiety reduction. Less frequent exposure to EMF radiation improves mood disorders.

The research studies conducted to highlight the fact that it is not merely being addicted to a smartphone that leads to the neurological adverse effects of exposure to EMF radiation.

In reality. the adverse effects of EMF radiation result from a significant time spent in an exposure.

With the gross advancement of technology, many environments are deeply saturated with radiation from EMFs. It is extremely easy to be exposed to EMF radiation and to remain unaware of it.

How Does EMF Radiation Cause Mood Disorders?

EMF radiation activates the channels in the body that are voltage-gated and calcium specific (VGCC channels). These channels are responsible for the regulation of calcium uptake into the cells. Disruptions in intracellular calcium uptake cause imbalances with ion levels and the chain effect results in a disruption of psychological processes.

VGCC channels are responsible for releasing neurotransmitters and hormones. They are extremely sensitive to EMF radiation. Some neurotransmitters include dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine.

A balance of these hormones is vital for healthy processes such as motivation, focus, pleasant feelings, good sleep, and a stable emotional disposition. When hormones are imbalanced, mood disorders dominate even when life seems to be stable and pleasant.

EMF Protection is Possible

Although it is impossible to be completely isolated from EMF radiation, there are certain steps that one can take to reduce exposure to EMF.

One of the measures that you can take is to reduce screen time considerably. You also need to ensure that your gadgets are far from you while you are asleep. Do not place your phone or other gadgets below your pillow as this will cause a transfer of EMF radiation.

If you can, opt to relocate to an area that is less urban. Also, opt to use ethernet cables instead of WiFi and ensure that all your gadgets have EMF-shielding.

Conclusion

EMF exposure is one of the causes of mood disorders in most people. Luckily, there are several measures that you can take to prevent exposure to EMF as mentioned above. According to research, protection from EMF radiations helps with anxiety reduction.
