EMF Protection: EFT Tapping Techniques to Reduce Anxiety

eft tapping health

There are plenty of management ideas that have come up concerning anxiety today. Some of these ideas may include medication, self-management, psychotherapy, EMF protection ideas (like EFT tapping), and other alternatives. However, there are techniques that we can introduce to our lives that greatly reduce anxiety too.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is one of these alternative treatments for anxiety, integrating both the physical and mental aspects of a person. In fact, EFT tapping techniques have proved itself to help people with the said condition along with depression.

Defining EFT Tapping

EFT tapping is a therapy that incorporates both physical and mental aspects. It also includes exposing a person to the cause of the anxiety.

It was made by Gary Craig, a psychotherapist, in the year 1995. During treatment sessions, specific body points are tapped by a therapist while the person involved focuses on a different concern.

These points are what you call “meridian points”- sensitive spots of a person’s energy. While the participant is being tapped, he/she has to recount phrases that are related to the symptoms he/she is suffering from.

Moreover, this treatment therapy has passed the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on Empirically Validated Treatments standards and is labeled as an evidence-based practice for mental disorders such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), phobias, anxiety, and depression.

What are the 5 basic techniques to perform EFT tapping for those with Anxiety?
  1. Know what causes anxiety.

A person with anxiety should first identify what his fears are. This is needed so that the treatment will be effective. In order to do so, it’s ideal for him to get a therapist in order to help him indent what his issues are. This will then be used as the basis for tapping.

For people with anxiety, it is ideal to use EFT for one issue at a time. This is so that the person will not become more anxious trying to eliminate the disorder. Keeping the focus on one problem will help you reduce anxiety significantly.

  1. Identify how serious anxiety is.

Anxiety sufferers vary because each can show different symptoms at a time. Anxiety can also be categorized, so you’ll have to know how serious your anxiety is and what type of anxiety you’re having. In this way, the EFT expert will be able to assess and give an intensity level for you.

The scale of the intensity ranges from 0 to 10, with zero being the easiest and ten the hardest. This evaluates the pain the participant feels from his/her main issue.

Setting a starting level will help the person see the progress after a complete order of techniques is performed. If the person starts with an intensity of 10 before doing tapping, and the outcome is 4, it means that the scale has improved by 60 percent.

  1. Prepare anxiety-based phrases

Since you’re combating anxiety, you should prepare your phrases to address your anxiety problems. The focus should be on admitting the problem and accepting oneself even with the issue.

The typical phrase recited with this is: “Even though I have anxiety, I deeply and completely accept myself”.

You can change the phrase depending on what type of anxiety you’re facing. The participant should also center his mind on how the issue makes him feel. The situation should be addressed by saying: “Even if I am anxious at all times, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

Doing this completely with acceptance and with conviction to reduce the nervousness can lessen anxiety symptoms in no time, especially under guidance.

  1. Proceed with the sequence for tapping

Though there are 12 meridian points located on each side of the body mirroring themselves, the order of EFT tapping specifically hits nine meridians. Also, each of these points has a direct relationship to a particular internal organ. These are the nine major ones:

  • Karate Chop (KC)- this involves the hand on its side and corresponds to the small intestine.
  • Top of the Head (TH)- meridian for blood vessels.
  • Eyebrow (EB)- meridian for the urinary bladder
  • Side of the eye (SE)- meridian for the gallbladder
  • Under the eye (UE)- meridian for the stomach
  • Under the nose (UN)- same with TH
  • Chin (Ch) – meridian for blood vessels (central)
  • Collarbone (CB) – meridian for the kidneys
  • Under the Arm (UA)- meridian for the spleen

Start by tapping the KC point while chanting the phrase at least thrice. Next, is to tap every point in its given sequence seven times.

After you tap the last point, located in the underarm, the order finishes at the TH point.

While tapping the following points, recite a “reminder phrase” to maintain focus regarding the problem. For people with anxiety, a reminder phrase can go like this: “The anxiety I feel concerning my general wellbeing”. Repeat the whole sequence three times.

  1. Check the last intensity

At the finality of the session, rate the intensity level of the anxiety and compare it to the beginning intensity. Repeat the basic techniques until the level reaches zero. When having anxiety though, as it’s a disorder that takes a lot of time to manage, EFT tapping once and alone won’t suffice, so successive sessions must be done together with therapy or medication when needed.

Conclusion

EFT tapping for fear and anxiety is actually an acupressure therapy that fixes the body’s imbalances and loss of energy. As a matter of fact, there is also what you call EFT weight loss, but that can be another topic to be discussed.

There are many positive stories concerning this treatment, and researchers are continually studying its potency and effectiveness concerning other illnesses. Just remember to always seek advice from medical professionals before trying anything that could possibly harm you more than it could help you.
